Waterford airport celebrated its new flights with Slatterys Sun to Malaga in Spain, Faro in Portugal, and Bordeaux in France with two competitions through the Waterford News and Star, and WLRfm.

The competitions took place over three weeks, with one winner each week receiving a pair of tickets from Waterford Airport.

In the first week of the WLRfm competition, the lucky winner was Caroline Griffin from Dunmore, who won two tickets to Faro. The second week’s winner, Phyl Kelly from Dungarvan, received two tickets to Bordeaux, and Patricia Boland, the third winner, also from Dungarvan, won two tickets to Malaga.  The radio station ran a phone-in quiz where contestants had to answer questions on Portugal, France, or Spain to win the tickets.

The Waterford News and Star also ran a competition, again over three weeks, where entrants had to answer one multiple choice question correctly. Ian White of Hillview in Waterford won tickets to Malaga, Emear O’Neill of Bracken Grove, Waterford, won tickets to Faro, and Maria Dower of John’s Hill in Waterford won tickets to Bordeaux.

Graham Doyle, Chief Executive of Waterford Airport said: “We are very grateful to the people of the southeast for supporting us during our growth, and offered these prizes as a way of thanking them. I would like to congratulate the winners, and hope they all have fantastic holidays!”
